City Council Campaign

Only 2 Weeks left until the St. George City Council Primary! I have run a Grass Roots Campaign, and have had the opportunity to meet many St. George Citizens! On Thursday at 9 AM, I will be featured on the "Mike McGary" radio program. I encourage all St. George Citizens to vote on September 11th! I am asking for your vote!

St. George

My name is Kris Ballard, and I have been campaigning for a seat, on the St. George City Council in Utah! The Primary will be held on September 11th. It is a Non-Partisan Contest, and I have enjoyed getting to know many of the Local Citizens. There are 14 Candidates, trying to be elected for the 3 available Seats. Only the top 6 Candidates will advance to the General Election, on November 6th. Wish me luck, since I am running a Grass Roots Campaign, that relies primarily on Volunteer Help, rather than Money!

Primary

The Filing Date has closed for the St. George City Council Elections. 14 People have filed for the 3 City Council Seats that are being Contested. Only one Incumbent is trying to be re-elected. Since there are so many Candidates, there will be a Primary. My name is Kris Ballard, and I am one of the Candidates!

Yesterday, a 1,000 Acre Fire caused a Power Outage, that shut down most of Washington County, Utah. The Power Outage lasted between 4PM-9PM. All the Stores, and Gas Stations shut down. The Temperature outside was 106%!

Democratic Convention

Senator Christopher Dodd was the Featured Speaker at the Utah State Democratic Convention today. He spoke mostly about getting our troops out of Iraq. Governor Bill Richardson was supposed to speak at the Convention also, but cancelled because he felt it was more important to catch a flight to Los Angeles.

Dinner

Tonight I attended the Jefferson/Jackson Dinner, for the Utah State Democratic Party. The Dinner was held at Heritage Park. Governor Bill Richardson was the Featured Speaker. He said that if we have enough money to fund the War in Iraq, that we have enough money to improve our Public Schools, and Pay our Teachers a decent Salary. He also spoke about protecting the Environment, and getting our Troops out of Iraq! Tomorrow I will be attending the Utah State Democratic Convention. I am a Delegate. Governor Bill Richardson, and Senator Christopher Dodd, will be the featured Speakers tomorrow.

MoveOn

On Saturday I went to a MoveOn Barbeque in St. George, Utah. It was great to watch Cat Stevens singing Peace Train on the Television. Our Hostess gave each of us, $10 Worth of Energy Saving Lightbulbs. It was great to meet with Fellow Progressives!

Worse than Halliburton

According to http://StopCorporateAbuse.org ExxonMobil is worse than Halliburton. How can that be? Part of the reason is, that even though ExxonMobil is the most Profitable Company in the World, they still refuse to pay the 4.5 Billion Dollars they owe for the Exxon/Valdez Oil Spill. Let's Boycott ExxonMobil immediately!

Monday, July 02, 2007

ExxonMobil

I'm calling for a Boycott of ExxonMobil. ExxonMobil is doing poorly on many different levels. They continually fund Anti-Global Warming Crackpots, they attack Environmentalists, and they gouge Consumers. Please join with me in boycotting ExxonMobil.

Zion National Park

3 People have died in the past Week at Zion National Park. Two fell from Cliffs, and one died from a Heart Attack. I worked at Zion National Park a few Years ago, so I'm surprised by the number of Deaths on such Popular Trails!

My Daughter

My Daughter has been visiting me since last Saturday. When I look at her 9 Year Old freckled face, it makes me want to try that much harder to work towards improving things. She deserves to grow up in a Decent World!

Luncheon

I attended a Luncheon for Barack Obama today. The Event was held at someones home. We watched a Video about Senator Obama, and listened to a Campaign Volunteer from Las Vegas, who came to St. George, Utah, to give us the latest details on Baracks Campaign. It's good to see so much Enthusiasm for Barack Obama, so early in the Campaign Season!

Advice

My advice to Congress is to resubmit the Benchmarks Spending Bill. If President Bush doesn't sign the Bill, than are Troops will be coming home even sooner. This is a Good Thing!

Randall Tobias

Does anyone feel sorry for Randall Tobias? This Bush Administrations seems to be having even more challenges than normal. Even George Tenet is trashing the Bush Administration in his New Book.

Barack Obama

I have switched my Endorsement to Barack Obama. Many of my closest friends here in Southern Utah are also endorsing Barack Obama. I believe that Mr. Obama not only has the Momentum necessary to win in the Democratic Convention, but also to win in the General Election.

With regards to my email, everything is working again.

Divine Strake Stopped

Divine Strake has been stopped once again! The credit goes to the incredible Grass Roots efforts of the Citizens of Utah, Congressman Jim Matheson, Bloggers, and Divine Intervention!

Library

The Public Library has put new filters on their Computers that have prevented me from accessing my own Blog. So until I get that problem resolved, I will have to use the Internet at the College Library.

On Sunday, I am going to see my daughter. It is 160 miles each way, so it usually takes 2 1/2 hours each way in driving time.

Tonight I am going to my Toastmasters Meeting. I have been President of the St. George Chalktalkers Toastmasters Club for a couple of years.

Thursday, Friday, and Saturday of this week, I will be working as an Usher for a High School Basketball Tournament. They will be long days of 12-14 hours per day.

Soldiers of Heaven

The latest theory is that American Soldiers were fighting The Soldiers of Heaven in Iraq. No, I'm not making this up. Our Soldiers are placing their lives on the line, to put down a Shiite Millenarian Cult! Hundreds of Billions of Taxpayers Dollars have been spent on the War in Iraq. Do you feel any safer? I don't!

Protests

Bring the troops home now! We didn't elect a New Congress to pass Non-binding Resolutions! Congress will either respond to the will of The People, or the Protests will grow larger! Hilary Clinton needs to quit pretending that she is powerless in Congress! For once Hilary, do the Right Thing, and lead the Senate in demanding that our troops come home from Iraq!

Friends

I would like to thank my Friends at: IsAmericaBurning.blogspot.com for their help in getting the word out about the Atrocity called Divine Strake!

Also the St. George, Utah, Public Library is still censoring Wikipedia. The Librarian I spoke to is aware of the problem, and said that people were even being frozen out of AOL. Although why anyone would use AOL is a mystery to me. The Librarian said that Technical People were already supposed to have solved the problem, but hadn't. At the rate our Library moves, who knows how long this will take?

Tonight I'm going to attend a lecture at the St. George Winter Bird Festival. I will be learning about Ivory-Billed Woodpeckers. The Website for the Bird Festival is SGcity.org/birdfestival.

Wikipedia

The Censorship practiced at our Public Library is Amazing. Here in St. George, Utah, we are barred from using Wikipedia. How silly is that? I mentioned it to one of the Librarians, and she said she would make a note of it.

On a happier note, the ladies of St. George deserve to be commended. There are 5 ladies here, who are members of CodePink, who have flown to Washington, D.C., to take part in the protests against the War in Iraq!

Another good thing will be taking place this Weekend in St. George. There will be a huge 3 day Winter Bird Festival. I have never been to a Bird Festival, but I plan on attending this one! This Festival starts Tomorrow!

John Kerry

John Kerry has dropped out of the Presidential Race. This is for the Best! Although Mr. Kerry would have made a better president than George Bush, he was and still is a member of the Skull and Bones. We need to demand more of our Presidential Candidates than membership in exclusive Clubs!

St. Francis

I was searching the Internet for information about St. Francis, when I came across this interesting Website: http://Franciscan.org. This site has many useful links, and is important in its own right. Those of us who are hoping to stop Divine Stake from taking place will need all of the Spiritual Sensitivity of St. Francis, Gandhi, and Martin Luther King Jr, combined!

Divine Stupidity

The Bush Administration's push for the Divine Strake Bomb that they want to detonate in Nevada, hasn't made them many friends in St.George,Utah! I attended a Public Hearing about this travesty, this Evening! The hearing was scheduled to last for 3 hours, but since so many people signed up to speak, the meeting lasted for over 3 hours! Only one person spoke out in favor of Divine Strake! It was sad to hear about the serious diseases and sicknesses that many People were suffering from, because of testing that happened in Nevada in the past! We stopped Divine Strake from being tested last year, and I pray that we can stop it this year also!

My Daughter

My daughter arrived yesterday and we have been having a great visit! Yesterday I took her to the Chess Center so she could learn more about Chess. We also ate some Pizza over there. Today Grandma and I, took Samantha to see Charlotte's Web at the Movie Theater. She seemed bored with the movie, and I noticed other children were restless also. I feel the animated version was better than this version.

On Thursday I was one of the people protesting against Divine Strake! We have to stop the Warmongering of the Bush administration!

Thursday, January 11, 2007

Divine Strake

The Warmongers in the White House are trying to waste additional money by blowing up a massive bomb, called Divine Strake. They tried to conduct this silly explosion last year, but due to the Public Out-Cry in Utah, we were able to stop them! Tonight I will be attending a meeting about this latest attempt at Dr. Strangelove Cold-War Mentality! I hope my Readers will Synpathize with our plight here in St. George, Utah!

On the lighter side, my daughter will be visiting me for 4 days, starting tomorrow! I plan on spoiling her as much as possible!

Thursday, January 04, 2007

Daughter

My Daughter will be visiting me from January 12th-15th!

It makes me sad to see the old St. George Library torn down! It is very wasteful!

Picture

My picture did appear in the Newspaper, but several days later than I expected. The picture is of me surfing the Internet at the new Public Library. I have to give them credit for spelling my name correctly!

I made it through the Christmas Holiday Season relatively stress-free. The most difficult thing I had to accomplish was moving my things out of the storage space I have been renting. Mostly it was alot of books and magazines. I'm still organizing everything. I'm surprised that all my stuff actually fits into my New Place! It is nice to have access to my entire Personal Library in one place!
